 The investigative division of the

County Sheriff's Office
is headed by Lieutenant C. S. "Bow" Cook. The task performed
by the investigative division is tedious, demands thorough
knowledge of the law, and a good deal of intuition. Most
serious cases require extensive work and thought to obtain
a conviction.
The investigative team consists of six investigators, who do an outstanding job of gathering the necessary evidence and information to convict criminals. The Sheriff's Office also began the use of a polygraph
instrument, or the "lie-detector test," in May of 2001. The polygraph
instrument will help investigators to more accurately determine when suspects and witnesses are being honest in the course of criminal investigations.
