JAIL MAT RE-ENTRY PROGRAM

 

The Jail MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) Re-Entry Program located at 23 West Main Street, Luray provides re-entry services to Page County residents recently released from incarceration who have a substance use disorder (SUD). The Jail MAT Reentry Program aims to reduce the impact of opioid, stimulants, and other substances on individuals, families, and communities, including a reduction in the number of overdose fatalities.

Funded by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP). COSSAP was developed as part of the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) legislation. The Page County Sheriff’s Office was awarded two 3-year grants totaling $1,200,000.

The Mission of the Page County Jail MAT Re-Entry Program is to empower individuals, families and communities to advance beyond addiction and overcome barriers to healing through an array of quality, compassionate care and prevention programs. The Page County Jail MAT Re-Entry Program respects each individual’s unique journey through recovery and believes the disease of addiction is both preventable and treatable.

Through this funding program participants are able to meet with a Case Manager, SUD Therapist and/or a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.

Additionally, program participants will be able to take part in various evidence-based groups to best meet their needs. Various groups will be offered include Self-Management and Recovery Training, Anger Management, Wellness Recovery Action Plan, Active Parenting and others as part of their recovery plan.

Under the direction of program coordinator, Louis Podrasky services are provided by the JMAT Re-Entry Case Manager Shane Burroughs, Trauma Practitioner Taylor Alger, and Re-Entry Psychotherapist Rebecca Roesch, MSSW, LCSW . In addition, staff from Strength In Peers provides peer recovery support services.
